Here are some of the best games of the last decade.

1.January 4th, 2006 Texas defeats USC 41-38
USC was supposed to easily beat Texas in the National Championship in 2006 and with 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter it looked like they would beat Texas. But the Longhorns wouldn't go away. With 19 seconds to go in the game, Texas was down 38-33. Texas QB Vince Young made a heroic play being chased out of the pocket and running in for the score. Texas ended up winning 41-38 coming back from a 31-23 deficit with late in the fourth quarter.

2.September 29th, 2007 Auburn defeats UF 20-17
Many Florida fans would like to forget this day in history. They were the defending National Champions and were considered unstoppable. But at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium that night, their opponents the Auburn Tigers walked in as underdogs and out as winners. Florida going in to the final minutes of the fourth quarter had all the momentum, coming back to tie it up 17-17 after losing 17-3 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. But Auburn came back down the field and in the final seconds kicked a 45 yard field goal to win it.

3.September 1 2007 App St defeats Michigan 33-32
This was provably the biggest upset in college football history. Appalachian State entered the Big House, full of excited and happy Michigan fans. But after the game, the Big House was full of heart broken and sad fans. Michigan was losing most of the game but came back and got it to 32-34 only down by two. But Michigan got the ball back got to the App State 27 and attempted a 37 yard field goal in the final seconds to win. Everyone expected it to go in but App State blocked it to win! Everyone was shocked. WOW!
These were the best games of the last decade.

The decade of the 2000's was a great decade for college football. Let's look back at the best of the last decade. Over the rest of Janurary, I will look at the best games, teams, and players. First let's look back at the best teams of the last decade.

1. 05 Texas team
This team was led by future NFL star Vince Young who led Texas to a huge upset at the National Title game against the powerful USC Trojans. This team went undefeated and in my book, is the best team of the last decade.

2. 01 Miami team
This team was packed with future NFL stars like Ed Reed, Andre Johnson,  Jeremy Shockey and Clinton Portis. This team won the 2001 National Championship and almost repeated the next year.

3. 04 Auburn team
This team was jipped out of a National Championship chance and ended up in the Sugar Bowl where they beat Virgina Tech and went undefeated. This team had future NFL stars like Tampa Bay HB Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, Dolphins HB Ronnie Brown and Redskins QB Jason Campbell. These were in my opinion the best teams of the decade.

After beating rival opponents, Texas, Florida and Alabama all look to go to the National Championship. We know that the winner of the SEC championship game will go to the National Championship but what about Texas. After barley beating Texas A&M, Texas will have another tough task against Nebraska. If they lose, that opens doors for Cincy and TCU and Boise State. I think the Gators will win in triple overtime against Alabama and Texas will beat the Cornhuskers 21-20 in the last seconds. But for Mark Ingram, Tim Tebow and Colt Mcoy, this will be their final chance to impress the heisman voters before the award is given. This should be the best college football Saturday in more than a decade. So don't plan much for Saturday!

On friday night, Alabama and Auburn played for the Iron bowl, one of the most historic rivalries in the nation. Many people expected Alabama to dominate but the Crimson Tide didn't seal the win until Greg Mcelroy passed a 4 yard TD to Roy Upchurch to take the lead 26-21 with 1:24 left in the game. Auburn is a good team and was not respected and that opened the door for a upset. Both teams played a great game and deserve a pat on the back. Both have bright futures. Alabama should end up in the Sugar Bowl and Auburn shuold go to the Capital One Bowl. Nice game to both teams.

Last Saturday night when Texas killed Oklahoma  State, I thought that Texas would jump over Alabama in the BCS rankings. Well, I was right. After looking the paper this morning, I was so excited to see Texas in the number two spot in the BCS. Texas is my favorite team (besides Florida State and Auburn), but sense I picked them to win the National Championship, I'm cheering for them even more. But what about the Crimson Tide? They are the best team in the SEC but even though they have a great RB in Mark Ingram, we won't know if they deserve to be ranked this high until after they play LSU and Auburn. Those two games will define this team. Before their game against Tennessee a couple weeks ago, I thought they would snap LSU and Auburn in half. But after having to block two field goals to beat Tennessee, forget that. But don't get me wrong, Alabama is good but not Texas or Oregon are good Texas jumping Alabama in the BCS was expected but these two teams have lots of talent so don't be surprised if they both end up in a BCS bowl game.

The SEC is probably the most surprising conference in college football. Every year, something shocking happens that changes the national championship race. But there have been no huge things happening. Well, after this week, that will change. Every team in the SEC has at a title. Alabama and South Carolina play this weekend. This will be a big match up in the SEC. Alabama is probably a front runner in the SEC, but they are facing a tough South Carolina team with a great quarterback who is very good aganist a very good Alabama defense. Next we move on to the Gators who plays a very good Arkansas team. Arkansas last week stunned then #17 Auburn and looks for another upset this week. Even with star QB Tim Tebow I am not sure if the can hold back the great Arkansas offense. And last but not least, we move on to Auburn. The Tigers are facing very underrated Kentucky defense that can confuse a very good offense. Kentucky has lots of experience with very good teams so Auburn better be careful. The SEC will have a big week this week. It could determine who is the best team in the SEC and even who goes to the SEC Championship game.

After Auburn's victory on Saturday, many people think that the Tigers are back on track. They performed very well on both sides of the ball. It was no easy task though. West Virgina QB Jarrett Brown has the same abilities as former WVU QB Pat White. West Virgina just didn't have what it took to beat  the Tigers. Auburn QB Chris Todd passed for four TD's in the win. If the Tigers can keep their  passing game up and get a running game going they will return to being unstoppable in the SEC again. This was a great game for the Tigers and if they play like this for the rest of the season, wow!
